There are five committees mandated by the Constitution, which exist to help us carry out the mission of the church. These committees report to the Church Council, which has the role of general oversight of all LCC business. They are listed below along with a summary of their Constitutionally mandated responsibilities.
Church Council
All committees report to the Church Council which has the role of general oversight.
The council assures the general welfare of the Church and its relations with other organizations and enforces regulations. The Council can also exercise supervisory
control over all Church activities, including worship services and other auxiliary or special organizations or bodies formed or operated within the Church or its premises to approve the budget, appoint a temporary nominating committee three months before the annual meeting, who will prepare nominations to the committees and offices of the church.

Christian Education
Constitutional responsibilities:
- To supervise all phases of educational work of the church and its organization.
- To appoint a Sunday school superintendent and Nursery school superintendent and teachers.
- To start up and run other religious education activities, such as youth groups, Bible studies, vacation Bible school, lectures etc.
- To cooperate in the educational and social phases of stewardship and missions.
- To generate its own budget.
Diaconate
Constitutional responsibilities:
- To be responsible for the spiritual life of the church and community.
- They shall care for the poor, the sick, the sorrowing, the indifferent and the stranger.
- To be responsible for conduct of services of worship, preparation and administration of the sacraments and pulpit supply in the absence of the Pastor.
- To be responsible for the reception, participation and termination of members, and to make an annual survey of the church’s rolls and revise as needed.

Constitutional responsibilities:
- To have care and custody of finances, of the buildings and properties of the church and plan for an adequate income through pledges and offerings.
- To generate and be responsible for formulating, receiving requests and compiling, presenting the budget to the Council, ensuring sufficient funding for programming and guidelines for the Treasurer’s work.
- To report to the Church Council.
- The trustees are not authorized to buy, sell, mortgage, lease or transfer the property of the Church without the authority of the vote of the Church.
Pastoral Relations
Constitutional responsibility:
- To support and maintain an open relationship between the minister and support staff and members of the congregation, with regard to hopes, dreams and expectations.
- To counsel with regard to ministerial priorities.
- To advocate for the ministers compensation and other employment benefits and the well being of his/her family.
- To resolve conflicts in relationships between minister, staff and congregation, when they arise.
`Ae Kamali`i
Constitutional responsibilities:
- To establish the policies of the school.
- To prepare an annual budget.
- To hire the school’s director and staff.
- To establish the personnel policies of the staff.
- To serve as liaison between the church and parents and students of the School.
Women’s Fellowship
The Women’s Fellowship meets monthly. Most times they work on quilts under the guidance of Julie Yukimura and Eiko Muranaka at Kapaia Stitchery. Anyone interested is welcomed to attend!
