In September 1992, Kauai was devastated by hurricane Iniki, and the original social hall building was damaged beyond repair. Lihue Christian Church was able to rebuild the hall, and on June 1, 1997, the Ae Kamalii Recreation Hall was dedicated. This beautiful facility serves both the congregation and the community.

The church uses the facility for its many programs and activities such as Sunday School, church related conferences, Mother’s Day breakfast, Church Bazaar, and Thanksgiving dinner.

On a daily basis, it serves as a cafeteria for the Ae Kamalii Preschool and is the home for Wilcox Adult Day Care Center.

Lihue Christian Church is a proud sponsor organization for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America. In the evenings and weekends, BSA Cub Pack 148, Troop 148 and Varsity 148, GSA Troop 273, 851, 852 and 953 hold their meetings and activities at this facility.

Other small groups and clubs rent the hall to practice and conduct their meetings.
